Energy; Sexuality; The serpentine power of Kundalini, an unconscious, instinctive and libidinal force.

Question:

What is the energy, that I am willing to express? Or to understand?

General Meanings:

The snake is the ancient symbol of dreams and should always be thoroughly analyzed by individual associations. The result of deep analysis will give you an important insight into your personality. For the start there is a lot of examples what a meaning of a snake dream can be.

Hidden worries or unmasked dangers – Dreaming of a snake indicates secret fears and hidden worries. These are threats for you. In this case, a snake in the dream might be an alert to wake up and see what is going around you, that is not already discovered. Alternative interpretation of the snake dream is the contradiction. Its meaning foretells the discovery of a threat. So, in this case a snake is an indication that a raunchy person or such situation is revealed in some way. Maybe it is a situation where you can not trust a person, or a person whom you know and can not keep it under control.

Taboo and temptation or fear of sex – Snake is often interpreted as a phallic symbol, that embodies sexual needs. Accordingly, snake can symbolize taboo – dangerous and forbidden sexual feelings. Or snake can represent temptation. Maybe even it shows that these sexual needs and desires are haunting you. But if you are afraid in the dream because of the snake, then it indicates your fears of sexual intercourse, close friendship or commitment.

Positive symbolism – In general, the interpretation of snake in positive way has symbolism of healing, freeing, protecting augury. Also as a positive symbol, snake symbolize knowledge and wisdom. Other meaning of snake as good omen foretells self-renewal, spiritual independence or rebirth, along with any other kind of positive transformations.

Psychological Meanings:

Importance – Snake is most important archetypical character of dreams. According psychiatrist C.G. Jung a snake demonstrates something significant in the subconscious. It can be dangerous or can bring salvation. Since the Expulsion from the Garden of Eden, the snake is most commonly met with fear.

Good or bad – Because of snake mysterious nature, it is seen as the carrier of deepest energetic forces of the soul, but snake also is seen often in a conflict, so snake dream has both meanings – positive and negative. Therefore snake can show splitting subconscious into one of two directions – good or bad. Two-headed snake – Especially the snake with two heads, one on each end, in the dream represents that the dreamer is being forcefully pulled in two different directions. Maybe there is too big load for you, too many things to carry. And that makes you not going anywhere. In this case your actions are having the opposite of the desired effect. Also two headed snake can be seen as a symbol of love affair or love triangle. The bicephalic snake (two heads on one side) in the dream represents parenthood or indicates your strong feeling of wanting to have children. Alternative interpretation of the two-headed snake indicates any kind of relationship and teamwork. Maybe you need to be more cooperative to achieve outstanding results.

Secret – A snake, that emerges from the darkness, signifies the fear of losing something special. As example, it represents closely guarded secret, that could be snatched from the dreamer.

Temptress – A snake in men’s dreams can appear as the symbol of a seductress and then often embodies a cold, calculating woman. Thus, it also has a warning function.

Sexuality and fear of it – Psychoanalytic Sigmund Freud saw in snake dreams a typical phallic symbolism. The snake may have this meaning very well, especially in dreams of young people. It symbolizes the instinctive impulse of human nature. Since snakes relate with sexuality, then maybe you have unresolved problems in this area or the fear of sexual activity. Snake in the bed – Especially, a snake on your bed in the dream represents that you are feeling intense sexual power from someone and that makes you uncomfortable or even sexually threatened. Maybe you are inexperienced, too much nervous or it is just too soon for you.

Snakes and Women

Snakes belong in the female dream’s world like stars in the sky. Snake dreams have younger girls than mature women because they still have a fear of male sexual power. In later years, the snake can refer to the fear of a rival.

Colors and their meanings – The yellow snake in the dream of a woman is the fear of encountering male sexuality and the red is often interpreted as direct symbol of the phallus, because the combination of the color and the form closely related to the penis. The golden snake symbolizes the abundance of wealth and the power of the Spirits. The white snake implies the depth of the soul. Dark, black snakes can alert the dreamer to change his life. Green snakes represent the body energy, which could still be used.

Kissing, touching or any other friendly contact with snakes in the dream, represents the possibility of betrayal and deception.

Healing, freeing and protecting – Together with other symbols this animal can be interpreted very positively and often represents some kind of healing: not for nothing a snake winds around the wand (rod) of Asclepius (Latin Aesculapius), the Greek God of medicine, healing, rejuvenation and physicians. At all times snakes’ deadly poisons was used in small quantities for the cure of certain diseases. Therefore, it is in the dream also as a symbol of change and healing. If snake sheds it’s skin in the dream, since old times such symbol is interpreted as the recuperation, recovery from an illness or a disease, or the liberation of condition, situation. The skin of a snake in the dream is as the safeguard for the dreamer and thus symbolizes protection from diseases or illnesses.

Spiritual Meanings:

Moral corruption or wrongful and criminal deception – On the spiritual level, the snake or the serpent in the dream symbolizes depravity, wickedness, acts of moral turpitude or fraud.

Perfection, energy, power, spiritual independence, rebirth, knowledge – The Ouroboros or Uroboros, a serpent or dragon eating its own tail, symbolizes the perfection, an infinite energy and the power. This ancient symbol appears in the dream when the dreamer is ready to engage with complete spiritual self-sufficiency. Dreaming of the snake eating its own tail has symbolic significance not only as the symbol of self-renewing life, but also as the symbol of the penetrating knowledge and the dragon.

Most popular explanation, which consists of most common symbolism, meanings and interpretations about afraid in dreams

Being Afraid means Temporary Misfortune – When the dreamer is being afraid, filled with fear for something in his dream, it foretells about worries and dilemmas he is suffering from. There is a possibility of misfortune in professional and/or personal life. However, the bad luck will go away after a while, because all of the troubles will be a temporarily thing.

Others Being Afraid means Aid for Relatives – If the dreamer sees others being afraid, frightened, scared or filled with fear or apprehension, then there is a possibility that your friends, family or colleagues will have some failures and you will have to help them. It seems that those people need you to give them a hand and you should be delighted of it. Sometimes we ought to help as you never know when you will be the one who needs it either. Try to pay more attention to people that you care of and look for after them.

Context Meanings:

Afraid of Heights

Acrophobia If being afraid of heights – The dream about fear of heights can be induced by acrophobia from waking life. Very often our brain recreates such scenarios, in which we can relive true feelings without real danger to us. So dreaming about being afraid of heights can mean that you have such fear and your subconscious is trying to warn you about it. In other hand such dream can have opposite purpose – it is an aid for you to overcome your fear of heights.

Lack of confidence If fear of heights – Second interpretation of the dream about acrophobia is related to some kind of phobia in the dreamer’s life. Maybe you have fear to do something new in you life. It can be new relationship, new job or new activity. Sometimes we have dreams about being scared just because of very important events are coming in our waking life. Also, dreaming about having fear of heights can show the dreamer’s inability to make decisions and to act firmly in important situations.

Victory If being scared of heights – Old dreambooks suggest that the dreamer is going to overcome his enemies and obstacles. Fear of heights is just like indicator that your goal in the life is coming closer. The bigger the fear is, the greater your success will be.

Afraid of Falling

Acrophobia If being afraid of falling - Firstly, the dream about the fear of falling is interpreted like the fear of heights. Both dreams can be induced by acrophobia from waking life.

Falling from bed If dreaming about falling – Real risk of falling from bed while person is sleeping is very common external stimuli. And because of this stimuli we are dreaming about the fear of falling.

Fulfillment of wish If falling or flying - It is very common to dream what we fear most or what we want to experience. In this case dream about fear of falling or flying is created because of our subconscious is trying to give us feelings about such activities.

Trauma if having fear of falling – According to scientifically proven studies of dreams, fear of falling while we are sleeping occurs because of traumatic events from our waking life. Explanations are very realistic and indicate that the dreamer had trauma from childhood like falling from parents’ arms or he had trauma during childbirth.

Dissatisfaction if afraid of falling – Ancient Egyptians explained dreams about fear in comparison to lack of confidence within the dreamer. Because of being unable to make firm decisions and not having self-confidence, the dreamer is in dissatisfaction with himself. And this conditions gives him the dream about the fear of falling.

Mistakes if crying because of falling – Modern psychology sees this dream as anxiety of mistake and the wish for fixing it. But if the dreamer was crying in the dream because of big fear, then it is indication of very big mistake, which need to be compensated in some way.

Achievements if falling without fear – If in a dream one has the fear of falling and then suddenly this fear vanished while he is in process of falling, then such dream shows big fortune for the dreamer. He will overcome obstacles and accomplish something victorious.

Afraid of Animals

Friends or Relatives If Dogs – To be afraid of dog, shows the dreamer’s fear of the wrongdoing from or for his friend. But if the dog in the dream is afraid of you, then such dream indicates that you need to help to your friend.

Enemies or Problems If Cats – To be afraid of cat, shows dangerous enemies. If cat is afraid because of you, then it a sign that you will overcome your enemies or problems in waking life.

Worries about Productivity If Rabbit – If you have fear of bunny or you being afraid of rabbit in a dream, then it indicates your conscious fear to be to slow and be unable to act properly fast in important parts of your life. Maybe you should do less thinking and do more working.

Disintegration or phobias If Worms – In a dream to be afraid of worms, shows feeling of being unimportant or feeling of disintegration. Maybe the dreamer has bad habits or bad thoughts and that cause such feelings. Irrelevance and degradation within the dreamer also represent fear of worms in dreams. According Freud, when worm stands for penis in the dream, then being afraid of worm, shows the fear of sexual intercourse. Genophobia is name of the fear of sexual intercourse. Third meaning about the fear of worms in a dream is related to real phobia of worms – Helminthophobia, scoleciphobia or vermiphobia is the fear of worms. Especially dreaming of parasitic worms can show the dreamer fear of being infested with worms.

Troubled friends or phobia If Snakes – In a dream to be afraid of snake, or to have fear that snake is going to attack you or bite you, shows that you have fear of being betrayed by your friends. Or it can show very strong enemy that is very dangerous right now. Second interpretation of the dream about fear of snakes, is clearly an indication of real phobia in the dreamer – ophiophobia is fear of snakes.

Feminine power or phobia If Spiders – Dreaming about spiders has links to feminine power and sexuality or mother’s complex. In a dream to have fear of spider or to be afraid of being bitten by one, shows that the dreamer is afraid of some powerful woman. For a man it can be his mother or wife or his ex-partner. Maybe he has conflict with one of them. For woman it can represent her mother or conflict with other dominant female in her life. But it can be opposite and she might be that strong female in conflict with her partner. For those who have arachnophobia, dream about spiders can be just regular nightmare and representation of their fear of spiders.

Meaningless stress or phobias If Monsters – If in a dream you are afraid of indescribable monster, then it shows your inner worries about something. Other interpretation of monster in dream clearly tells that the dreamer can have some kind of phobia or energy eating fear in himself or meaningless stress in his environment.

Afraid of Events

Shocking life events If tornado, storm, lightning, blizzard, earthquake – Dreaming about being afraid of earthly disasters indicates socking life events in the dreamer ‘s waking life. But in other hand such dreams can be induced by external stimulus and show that, while you was asleep, real storm, rain or lightning was outside.

Thanatophobia, intoxication, traumas If scared of own death – Dreaming of being afraid of death or dying, shows the dreamer’s phobia of death in waking life or it indicates traumatic events from waking life. The fear of death is ancient and primal. This fear is common for most of us. Fear in the nightmare is self defense mechanism. Sometimes the dream about death is just a scenario, which must be relived in the dream, to give us insight about feelings in case of death or warn us about something. Intoxication can be external stimuli for nightmare about death.

Artemidorus:

If your dreams are about transformation, then you must pay attention to three main sections. First on the quantity, secondly on the quality, and thirdly, on the outer appearance.
The quantity: It is favorable to dream that something grows from small to big one or grows beyond its natural form, but only if it does not exceed the normal size of a human. (According to ancient idea superhuman size and beauty that comes only to the gods and heroes.)The vision do not announce a physical growth, but the increase of the activities and the financial situation of the dreamer. However, it means the death of him, when he sees a superhuman size of the thing; if you dream a child, that he was small and had grown, became an adult. This is not good the death is near, somebody is going to die. When the old man dreams that he became a child, it is a bad sign. It means his death. A good sign, however it is for a man – to be a youth, and for the youth to become a boy. Changes for both ages are youthful. It brings happiness when the boy transforms into a young man, a young man into the man, and the man turns himself into an old man. Because each of them become more honorable age. A young man – to an old man, he is not die though, as the boy, but falls ill. A man turns into a boy, he will suffer through reckless business losses.Aptly says the poet’s words: “You must always be young man so her heart will be full of fluttering recklessness.” (Homer: Iliad 3.108) The quality of the transformation behaves and it follows as: a man is transformed into a woman, so that bodes for a poor and a slave. One will be as a breadwinner – a woman, the others need less toiling in his slave labor; because woman job is less tiring. For a rich man, however, it is bad, especially when he is in political life; because usually the women prevail and connect family in the house. Therefore, the vision will exclude you all higher offices. Athletes, it means illness, the women are more tender with nature than the men. A woman is transformed into a man, it doesn’t matter is she married or is she unmarried, she has no children. She will give a birth of a boy, and this way changes the male nature. She has a husband and a son, she will decide her life as a widow; because the man does not need a man, but a woman. This dream experience sets a slave to an even heavier yoke of slavery, a courtesan, however, it brings you the luck. If you dream that someone, man or woman, is made of gold or silver, if they are slaves they will be sold, so that it is worth its weight in silver or gold. A poor person will get rich. The gold and silver that surrounds him, we have to give it to a judge, however,it will be exposed to attacks, because all gold and silver attracts many rogues, each of them will be sick. The vision certainly predicts death, as well, when we see that something has become an ore; If we see the statues made of ore you will get a donation as votive offerings. The same meaning if someone sees his picture or his statue made of bronze on a public square. The transformation in iron predicts unbearable tragedy; However the dreamer is going to survive and reach a great age. The people of iron we call those, which have endured many adversities and difficulties in their life. If you dream that you became made of loam or clay, so the death threatens everyone, except for person who works with the clay or loam and earns for their living. If you dream that you are made of marble, it tells about the dreamer’s wounds and injuries; because without iron tools, no one can be carved in marble. According to this , someone has to adjudge if it is the transformation into another substance. Someone is transformed into an animal, you must proceed from the nature, choose the best interpretation from the the dreams about animals. In my experience there are more promises of happiness that comprise, beauty, noble stature and physical strength, unless they exceed human size. For someone who is dreaming to be unusually beautiful, handsome, or strong, it means the same thing as when you think you are ugly, paralyzed or weak. Everything brings sickness that comes to death, healthy weakness and infirmity. Each change for the better lucky is sign for the rich, even if you turn into a God;
Someone dreamed that he had become the Helios ( the sun personified as a god, father of Phaethon. He is generally represented as a charioteer driving daily from east to west across the sky) and walk into the brilliance of eleven sun rays through the marketplace. He was elected as the Mayor of his town and had died after he had exerted eleven months at this office, because the number of rays was not completed. (The Sun God has twelve rays.)

In general:

We you dream that something transforms in your dream, so this means that the image has a larger significance then a dream symbol. Transformation usually means, that you are surrounded by light, and this requires a special, divine meaning. Such a dream can occur if the dreamer in his life goes through the changes or he lives in a conversion period. Transformation is a phenomenon that can occur when stages of the awareness change. It belongs to the incidence of the light, how it appears on the personality. Does he come to the light and change it. The occurrence of transformations in the dream, suggests that the dreamer has to be aware of his mental power.

Psychologically:

A self-reinforcing effect occurs when the dream work on: If you notice a first change of yourself, could be reinforced conscious perception and possibly more profound changes. You have to turn back again on your dreams to determine these required changes. Our dreams depict each psychological change of the dreamer, only then you have to consider it. Personality – or behavioral changes in everyday life, frequently first we can see them in the dreams as an occurrence of new and previously unknown symbols. For example, typical conversion symbols and recurring symbols previously did not appear and you did not find them in your dreams. The characteristic of transformation symbols include the following images:
– To cross a bridge and any situation where you get to the other side or go to the other land. To enter the new country, confrontation with the unknown place or you found previously unknown room in a house.
– The caterpillar and the butterfly, the sloughing of the snake, or the bird, to see it flying, the image that shows the connection between heaven and earth.
Of course, there are many more conversion symbols. Most of them are listed in four groups of symbols that can be attributed.
1. Reaching the other shore:
Always, when we dream of a place, the new place that we go, is equivalent to an inner change. We leave our old position, which is symbolized by the place where we are in a dream, to move to a new position, which characterizes the inner place, on which we want to move towards. You look exactly to the new place , because it shows you symbolically, where you want to develop. An archetypal image of this situation represents the crossing bridge over the canyon or the wild water, that lets you to get to the other shore. This image is found in the legends and mythology, for example, the Lancelot – a knight of King Arthur’s Round Table – has to cross the bridge to Meliagaunce – the seducer of his beloved Guinevra – to find and fight with him. Launcelot deals with his shadow, because he has also seduced Guinevra, in spite of the fact that she is the woman of his King. The confrontation with your own shadow always starts a reorientation and change. We know the picture of the bridge from the Quran, which describes hell. That bridge is so narrow as a hair of a man and only the righteous can exceed, to get into a new, state of paradise.C. G. Jung refers the symbol of the bridge as unsafe places in our consciousness, which is threatened again and again to collapse our unconscious. The most important thing here is to cross the bridge and reach the other side. No matter how difficult it may be, you have to try in any case to reach the other shore if you have such a dream. If you did not succeed to do this in your dream, then you have to take the advantage of force technology that we use in our day-dream. Try to imagine as accurate as possible this dream, and the positive end will be when you reach the other shore. You have to make it yourself – perhaps in the form of an affirmation – if this dream symbol appears again, cross the bridge and arrive on the other side. This does not apply for the vision of the bridge, but for every situation in a dream, where you go from a known location to a new location. The arriving is important. If you move through the new bridge, the street and the mean of transport that you take a trip is described, always make sure on the condition of the bridge or road, or the means of transport that you take the trip. At the begining of a psychological change the bridge may be more narrow as in the Koran or in the Lancelot’s bridge. The bridge may also be in need of mending or wavering. The reason is that the dream can predict alterations of consciousness, the present consciousness of the dreamer but it still not so strengthened, this change helps to pass through the bridge without any problems.Think about it in your daydreams, the bridge will be safe, stable and wide. We prefer to stay as we are, and every personal transformation is perceived by us as a threat. In any case, bridges like all transitions are the places of danger. So pay attention to symbols, the transitions to something, symbolize different and new, and try to consolidate these transitions and stabilize with affirmations and daydream technique, you are prepared to transit to the new way.
2. The unknown space or the unknown land in the dream:
Each new territory which we enter in a dream is a symbol of new possibilities. Very often we find a new room in the house that is known for us or we travel to a country that is unknown for us. You dream the unknown room or country, it is always sure how this country or rooms can be characterized. If you remember such a dream, it is advisable to look at the new place precisely. Who can dream consciously, you should hold your inner film and see how is the new room decorated and what kind of atmosphere it exudes. If it is an unknown land, every detail that characterizes this country, should be seen as a symbolic reference to new life possibilities. Come back again in this dream and now look closely at the room or country. It does not matter that you are as accurate as possible to your dream, you can use your imagination to follow and arrange the room or the country. However it is important,
that this is not from your head or your hopes, but that you pass the vision of your imagination and see how it develops you.
3. A caterpillar, a butterfly and a snake:
The caterpillar becomes a butterfly, the snake sheds its skin. Caterpillars, butterflies and snakes represent common archetypal images of the process of personal transformation. The Caterpillar occurs in our dream , this indicates that process of changes has just begun and would perhaps tell us, that we have to spin up first, then we must withdraw and become a light butterfly. Who dreams of a caterpillar, you should try with the technology of the day-dream, to leave a caterpillar and become a butterfly, then identify yourselves with the butterfly. That has on the symbolic level, completed transformation – and what we understand at the symbolic level, we can implement easier in everyday life. We see a butterfly in a dream, the personal transformation process seems to be even more advanced. From ugly and greedy caterpillar has become a butterfly, that can move freely and easily. We just feel easy, flexible and beautiful for our change. We may not have arrived at the point, but the dream gives us at least an outlook where the development goes. This positive outlook on our future is often needed as a reinforcement, because if we get a taste of the beauty and freedom of our goal, which strengthens our staying power on the way there. The Snake is certainly one of the most complex symbols in the dream of Western people. She may appear as male or female, can be toxic or beneficial. For our consideration here, it is particularly important that the snake can slip from her skin and form a new skin. Exactly characterizes human change, in which someone often has the feeling to get out of an old skin. Check out the snake carefully. For example, what color has it got? To see the new or old snakeskin? The symbolic value of the color of the snake skin, can give you an indication where did you come from or where you will go. Be aware of where did the snake come, and where it has disappeared. Different from the butterfly, the snake is for the human drives. The skinning snake is a change in the power structure. At the same time the snake is cold – blooded animal , with which man can communicate only with great difficulty. And so there is, among other things, that our change processes run incomprehensible for us. We can recognize, but do not understand.
4. Other conversion symbols:
Each symbol has a variety of ways to represent changes in the life. It is no coincidence that you have just dreamed that, and no other symbol. If you can not find any description about the symbol that you have seen in the dream, then you have to think about three properties that characterize this symbol. Now apply these properties – that will certainly help you. Changes are noticeable, also the same as symbolism changes – you often have to be aware before something changes. A woman who was arrested for very negative thoughts. During the therapy she said that she had dreams a lot of cars. The dream image “car” aptly characterizes their situation, because it was a passenger cars, where you always sat alone. Better, the isolation can be used for the rest of the world, but not for the scene. Despite of all the isolation, and this image also makes it clear – this woman kept moving forward. As the therapy began to work successfully ,it made a noticeable change in her dream symbolism. Now it was the water, instead of cars, that was heaped as a lake, a river the sea or only the bathtub. Water as an archetypal image of the feeling, in this case pointed to an emotional opening of the dreamer, that you had not even seen.

Spiritually:

On a spiritual level, transformation in the dream may mean that the dreamer is aware of his psychic abilities.
